    378PDF摘要

Locomotive is one type of transport carrier. However, there are still some problems in its procurement, leading to high locomotive idle rate and low utilization rate. In other words, there is no scientific demand evaluation system for locomotive procurement. In this article, the author first analyzes how different locomotive types are related to passenger and freight transport volume, their running speed, and transport time, and then obtains the demand prediction formulae for passenger trains, freight trains, locomotives, and China Railway High Speed (CRH) respectively. Then the author uses the data from 1978 to 2012 to build unary and binary linear regression models for locomotives and improves the model for evaluating the procurement size of locomotives, hoping this research achievement can be an important reference for China Railway Corporation, road bureaus and companies during their decision-making for locomotive procurement.

  • Analysis on Coal Price Forming Mechanism in China

Cheng SHI , Lihua GUO , Yiduo MEI

Coal price, Price forming mechanism, Effect factors
    390PDF摘要

For a long time, coal occupies a large proportion in China’s primary energy consumption structure and the problems in formation of coal price result in a drastic fluctuation of coal price in recent years. Since the second half of 2006, China has adopted a series of coal price marketization reform measures, but with little success. The fundamental reason is that the coal price forming mechanism is unreasonable, mainly in the unsound mechanism of coal supply and demand, unreasonable coal prices and incomplete price forming mechanism. Therefore, we should construct a reasonable coal price forming mechanism on the basis of clear objectives and principles of reforming and improving the coal price forming mechanism, so as to promote the development of the domestic coal market.

  • The Asymmetric Effects of Monetary Policy Across t

    Qian LI

Monetary policy, Industries effects, Smooth transition regression model
    357PDF摘要

This paper attempts to demonstrate asymmetric effects of monetary policy in different industries from the perspective of the size difference. Based on theoretical analysis, the paper illustrates that the proportion of the scale of different enterprises in different industries can produce different reactions to the monetary policy by using the nonlinear STR model, where we find that the asymmetric industries effects of monetary policy in our country is apparent and the main reason for this phenomenon is the different enterprises scale. The higher proportion of large and medium size enterprises in industries, the more sensitive is the response to monetary policy. On the contrary, the lower proportion of large and medium size enterprises in industries, the less sensitive are the responses to monetary policy.

    393PDF摘要

Industrial agglomeration promotes the economic development in Beijing, which relies largely on the support from financial sector. In hope of analyzing the different impacts of indirect financing and direct financing on the process of industrial agglomeration, this paper sampled all 16 districts (counties) under the jurisdiction of Beijing, gathering the panel data from 2005 to 2012. Other possible explanatory variables such as local fiscal expenditure, FDI, imports & exports, fixed asset investment are also brought into consideration. The results show that direct/indirect financing as well as FDI create a positive impact to industrial agglomeration in the central six districts (the Core 6), in which direct financing is more influential than the indirect one. However, industrial agglomeration in the other 10 districts (the Non-core 10) are largely be explained by import and export instead of financing.

Institutional investors, The cost of equity capital, PEG model
    377PDF摘要

This paper investigates the relationship between institutional investors and the company’s cost of equity capital. Especially considering the large proportion of state-owned shares in China’s capital market, we divide the Chinese listed companies into state-owned shares and non-state-owned shares, and investigate the different effects of institutional investors on the company’s cost of equity capital in two groups. This study confirms that with the increase of the proportion of institutional ownership, the company reduced the cost of equity capital. Relative to state-owned enterprises, institutional investors help to reduce much more cost of equity capital of non-state-owned enterprises.
